SHOW AND TELL:

You can tell a soldier by their uniform. You can tell a Christian by how they "dress" themselves.

Be sure to put on your "uniform" every day!

Are you READY to E.N.L.I.S.T. ?

When someone joins the Army they  the enlistment papers for joining the Army. When you join the military, whether it be the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, or even the new Space Force  you are volunteering to serve and submit yourself to do whatever they need wherever they send you.
Once you enlist, they are in charge of you. You don’t get to choose what you’ll do or where you’ll go. You can make a request, and in some cases, they might honor your wish, but they don’t have to. It’s totally and completely up to them. You surrender control of your life to them. It’s a big choice. So why would anyone do that? Because they love their country. It’s that’s simple.

The same is true when people give their life to God. They say, “God, I’m yours. I will do whatever you say and go wherever you send me.”

You can ask God in prayer for what you want, and God will often honor your requests, but He doesn’t have to and sometimes says no. The good news is, whatever He does is out of love and because He has a great plan for your life. (Jeremiah 29:11) and no matter what happens, He is going to work it out for good too. (Romans 8:28) But why would anyone surrender complete control of their life to God?

Same reason. Out of love. And trust. And because they know God knows better than they do how their life should be lived.
Just like a general knows more, understands more, and has sources of information a soldier doesn’t, God knows more, understands more, and knows EVERYTHING.

What is a soldier’s job?

TO SERVE TO PROTECT TO FIGHT BUT FIRST – he or she must ENLIST!

How do they enlist?
E= Everybody has sinned
N= Nobody is Good Enough
L= Loved the World and Sent His Son
I= Invite Jesus into Your Heart
S=  Say “YES” to GOD
T=  Trust Jesus with Your Life

Imagine you had a blank Enlistment Form for God’s Army.  Pretend that it represented what salvation is really all about. It might say something like, "I understand that by signing below I am accepting the terms of this Enlistment Form. I am joining God’s Army. I am surrendering control of my life and future to the Commander in Chief of the world understanding that He loves me, has the best plan for my life, and will guide me as I seek Him with all of my heart, mind, soul and strength."

These might be the terms of the ENLISTment:

A. You must ADMIT that you have sinned, which simply means you understand you have disobeyed your Creator and don’t deserve to be on His team, but you understand He loves you and is inviting you anyway.
B. You must BELIEVE that God so loved the world that he sent His one and only son, JESUS, to die on the cross for you, to take your place, to pay for your sin, so you would not have to – that He rose again from the dead – and that He is inviting you to accept Him as your Savior so you can be on God’s Team and be forgiven.
C. You must CHOOSE to accept Jesus as your Savior and as your LORD – which means the Commander in Chief of your life – for the rest of your life – to love Him and follow his commands and orders no matter what they might be.

Next, image at the bottom, there is a BLANK area that says: DETAILS TO BE FILLED OUT BY THE COMMANDER IN CHIEF IN THE YEARS AHEAD:

When you join God’s Army as His soldier, you are agreeing to be on His Team not knowing what He might write under the details. That is the level of commitment He is looking for. Would you  sign up not knowing but being committed no matter what? That's what Enlistment requires. That's what Salvation is all about!

You are IN, 100%, no matter what the assignment will be, no matter what the battles may be, and no matter the cost.

It's a BIG ASK – but that's what it means when you ask Jesus to be your Savior and LORD. The world "LORD" means the Commander in Chief of your life!
