HEY KIDS! WELCOME!

Miraculous!

Feeding 5,000

We are discovering the miracles of Jesus, but also how we can experience miracles in our lives still today!

Dads, Moms, Kids - use this page together to review or further explore what was learned at church, or if you weren't able to get to church today, then you can learn and live it out at home! After all, the Church is wherever you are! LET'S GO!

DISCUSS IT!

Here are a few discussion questions to get started. There are no right or wrong answers. Just share what you think, and then work your way down the page learning together!
  • If you had to eat the same 3 meals every day for the rest of the year what would they be? (Breakfast, lunch and dinner.)
  • If you could BAN one type of food from your country, what would it be?
  • If you could have an unlimited supply of one snack, what would you choose?
  • What do think people your age worry about the most now-a-days?
  • What is a need in your life that you worry about sometimes?
Let's learn about a time that Jesus met the needs of thousands of people with very little available!

OUR LESSON THIS WEEK:

Find this miracle in: John 6:1-15

This is a miracle that Jesus did more than once. It's recorded multiple times in the Gospels!* Jesus was out teaching large crowds who came out to hear Him, and then it came time to eat, and there wasn't enough food for everyone! But that was no problem for Jesus! When there is a need, Jesus can provide - no matter how big the need! Watch the video below as Mike and Ike tell the story and then try to repeat the feat the Jesus did!

* Curious? Read the other accounts in Matthew 14:13-21; Mark 6:30-44; and the feeding of 4,000 in Matthew 15:32-39; and Mark 8:1-13.

WHAT DO WE LEARN?

There is no need too big for Jesus. He can do anything, but He starts with what we have.

Jesus had become very popular, and many were following Him to listen to His teaching. The disciples saw an impossible situation. Jesus wasn’t concerned at all. He knew something they hadn’t yet learned: that nothing is impossible for God.

He knew He could do anything, but He prefers to work through others. So He asked, “What do we have?” They said there was one boy who came with some food for himself. He likely planned ahead while others didn’t. (Or perhaps his mom did!) He offered what he had to Jesus. Jesus took it and blessed it and it multiplied many times over! In fact, there were even leftovers!
Read: Philippians 4:19
And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.
Think about it: What if the boy hadn’t shared? When we give Jesus what we have, He can make it go so much further.

Ask yourself, what can you give to Jesus? Your time, talents, treasures? How do you think Jesus could use YOU to be a blessing to others?
Remember, magicians have to use a trick to be amazing, but when Jesus did miracles, there was no “trick,” He actually DID miracles! Today we learned about a time that Jesus multiplied food. Jesus can make anything multiply, but it starts with us giving what we have to him. The miracle starts when we give what we have to Jesus. Only then will it multiply!
