Otherwise, PastorKarl.com will continue as a media site for kids, but the weekly Sunday content page will be replaced with a resources page for each unit rather than a new page each week.

Learn it - Live it!

READ: Luke 15:1-7
Some things to notice from this passage:
• The “religious” leaders didn’t like that Jesus was friends with people they didn’t approve of, but Jesus wanted to show that He loves everyone.
• Jesus wants to reach everyone – even those we might think are beyond saving.
• The other 99 aren’t less valuable, they are just already saved! God still cares for us
who have been found, and He keeps us close and protects us!
• When someone comes to Jesus they celebrate in heaven!

Lost and Found
What does it mean to be LOST? When we say that someone is “lost” it means that they are not where they should be, and they don’t know how to get to where they should be. They made a wrong turn somewhere along the way. We are spiritually lost because we also are not where we should be – with God – and many people don’t know the way to God. They need to be told. Sin is the “wrong turn” that got them off the path to finding God.

What does it mean to be FOUND? When someone finds out about Jesus, how He came, and died for them and rose again – they learn the way BACK TO GOD! By accepting Jesus as their Savior and choosing to follow Him, they get back on track to where God wants them to be.

Do you know any lost people? This doesn’t mean they are bad people – we are bad, too – we all do bad things. But they are lost if they don’t know that Jesus died for the bad things they have done and that He wants to forgive them and give them a new life with God! Think of a friend you have who is “lost,” meaning they don’t know Jesus. Maybe YOU can be the one to tell them about Jesus so they can be found! Maybe you can invite them to church to learn more about God!

SO WHAT DO WE LEARN FROM THIS STORY?

HOW DO WE LIVE IT?

Jesus was willing to come to earth to reach the lost. If you are at church, it is because someone shared Jesus with you, your parents, or maybe your grandparents. If you are “found” it’s because someone helped find you. Now it is your turn to help find lost people. What can you do to bring someone to Jesus? Imagine if every one of you brought a friend to church next week! Wow! We’d double our room with people who have been found!
