Undercover Queen
Being God's Kid - in God's Place
We are learning the incredible story of Queen Esther - who God placed undercover right where He needed her so she could accomplish an important Mission for Him! God has also placed YOU right where He needs YOU so you too can accomplish a Mission for God!

Dads, Moms, Kids - use this page together to review or further explore what was learned at church, or if you weren't able to get to church today, then you can learn and live it out at home! After all, the Church is wherever you are! LET'S GO!
DISCUSS IT!
Here are a few discussion questions to get started. There are no right or wrong answers. Just share what you think, and then work your way down the page learning together!
- Have you ever been in a situation where you were in DANGER?
- What are some things we do to KEEP SAFE?
- How COURAGEOUS do you feel on a scale of 1 to 10? (1 being wimpy and 10 fearless)
- Who is someone you really look up to and why? How would you describe their character?
- When you do feel closest to God?
Let's learn about a time when Esther had to do something that took great courage!
OUR LESSON THIS WEEK:

Read about Queen Esther going before the king in Esther Chapter 5
The king's advisor, Haman was upset with Mordecai and wanted to kill him, so he tricked the king in to passing a law that would make it legal to kill Jews for one day. He didn't realize that the king's wife, Queen Esther was a Jew putting her life in danger! Esther had to go before the king, unannounced, and plead for her life, and for her people. Going before the king
WATCH IT! Video blogger Luke learns about Character.
Luke is keeping a video blog about what he’s learning. Lately, God’s been challenging him to work on his character. He tells stories about some of the ways he’s had
to work on his character. He is learning that character is who you are when no one is looking.
I Corinthians 4:7 Who says that you are better than others? Everything you have was given to you. And if this is so, why do you brag as if you got these things by your own power?

WHAT DO WE LEARN FROM QUEEN ESTHER?
Because of God’s PROTECTION I can be COURAGEOUS.
The Bible is filled with many wonderful promises of God. Many get made into bumper stickers, bookmarks, posters,
and online memes. But here is one you don’t often see that Jesus said in John 16:33. “In this world you will have
trouble.” Not, “might have trouble,” not, “could have trouble,” not, “once in a while there is a slim chance you’ll see trouble.” No, Jesus said you WILL have trouble. We live in a broken world. But luckily, before He said that, He said we can have peace. Why? Because after he said we will have trouble He added, “But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
God protects those He loves and who are following Him. That’s why, like Queen Esther, we can be courageous because we know we have God’s protection! Let’s see what the Bible says about God’s protection!

Here is a quick game your family can play! It's called Protect the Queen!
You’ll need some paper plates, plastic cups, and paper to wad up. Choose one person to be the Queen and one or two people to be the guards! Every one else are peasants! The "Queen" holds a paper plate on her head by the edges and a plastic cup is placed in the center of the plate. The Peasants (the rest of the family) are given paper to wad up and toss at the Queen to knock the cup over. The goal is for the Queen to cross the room without the cup being knocked over. The Queen will have to walk slowly and gracefully so the cup doesn’t fall, and their Royal Guard(s) will have to work hard to protect her from the incoming attacks! No one can touch the Guards or the Queen. They can only toss their paper wads or shoot their darts.
THE POINT: The Royal Guards did their best to protect the Queen. How did they do? We too are under attack from the world and our Enemy, the Devil. But we are never alone! God is always with us. How many times in movies do we see a character act bravely and go up against a scary villain and speak boldly – and the villain reacts in fear. The small but good character is surprised by the reaction, but what they don’t know is that standing behind them is a big strong mighty character that the villain sees and is actually reacting to. It’s a scene that is repeated many times in many movies. But it’s a scene we can relive every time we stand up for God, because He stands behind us. God has our back!

READY? SET? GO!
TIME TO GET YOUR BIBLES OUT AND RACE TO LOOK UP THESE BIBLE VERSES AND THEN TALK ABOUT THEM AS A FAMILY! How to they relate to the lesson and how can you apply them to you LIFE this week?
- Psalm 121:7-8
- Jeremiah 1:19
- Psalm 3:5
HIDE IT!
THIS IS OUR THEME VERSE FOR THE ENTIRE SERIES! Work on memorizing this as a family. You have the entire series to work on it. Think of a reward for your family when you all have it memorized!
In Hebrew, the original language of Jeremiah 29:11, the Hebrew word for “plans” is literally “thoughts.” So this could be translated, “I know the thoughts I think about you, declares the LORD.” This isn’t to say it is translated incorrectly, when you ‘plan,’ you are thinking, so to say, “I know the plans I have for you,” is accurate – but how wonderful to realize that God THINKS about YOU, and when He thinks about you, He is thinking good thoughts. Thoughts to prosper you, and not to harm you. Thoughts to give you a hope and a future!
