THIS WEEK'S STORY:

Learn it - Live it!
READ IT IN: NUMBERS 21:4-9 (It is short and worth the time to read the story.)
In this Old Testament story, we read that God’s People were complaining and speaking against God and His leadership. God says that is called SIN. He sent a punishment, (A bunch of biting snakes! Yikes!) but He also sent a cure. (Read what it was!) Why would he do this? He wanted to see who would be sorry for how they had behaved and obey, even when it’s an odd request. It would be like when you get in trouble with your parents. They might ground you, but then say if you clean your room and take out all the garbage, you won’t be grounded any longer. You have a choice – go pout in your room and fume about how mean your parents are or show them you are sorry by cleaning your room and taking out the trash.
SAY THIS BIG WORD OUT LOUD: “FORESHADOWING.” What is foreshadowing? A shadow appears BEHIND YOU when you are facing the sun. Some events in the Bible happened in the past, a shadow of what is happening now, but they hinted at something that would happen in the future. This story in the Old Testament was a hint, or foreshadowing, of what would come in the future!
READ: John 3:14-15 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in him may have eternal life.
SUMMARY (Bottom Line!):
• We have all sinned against God. (Romans 3:23)
• There is a punishment for that sin... we don’t get to go to heaven! (Romans 6:23)
• But God also sent a way to be saved, Jesus! (Romans 5:8)
SO HERE'S THE DEAL:
• If we look to Jesus and believe in Him, we will be saved and healed from the “bite” of sin. (Romans 10:9)
• Have you looked to Jesus for Salvation? (Romans 10:13)
Have YOU ever "looked to Jesus" and asked Him to save you? If not, why not?
GO FOR IT! You might as well do it TODAY!
You could pray a prayer like this TODAY.
Dear Jesus, I know that I have sinned and I know that I deserve to die for my sin, but I also know that Jesus came and died for me. He was buried, but He rose again! Now He is alive in heaven. I want Jesus to be my Savior. I am looking to Him for my Salvation. Please forgive me and make me your child. Thank you, God, for sending Jesus. Thank you for forgiving me. Help me now, to live for you every day in every way even when it’s hard. In Jesus Name, AMEN.
If you do prayer to ask Jesus to be your Savior, have your Mom or Dad e-mail and let me know so I can send you a little something.

SO WHAT DO WE LEARN FROM THIS STORY?

HOW DO WE LIVE IT?
Look to Jesus every day. How do we do that? Start your day in prayer asking Jesus to help you live for Him today. End your day in prayer, thanking Jesus for a great day. You can talk to him about whatever happened, good, bad, or ugly. He listens, He cares, and He will help you make tomorrow better!
