HEY KIDS! WELCOME!

Miraculous!

A Paralytic Friend Healed

We are discovering the miracles of Jesus, but also how we can experience miracles in our lives still today!

Dads, Moms, Kids - use this page together to review or further explore what was learned at church, or if you weren't able to get to church today, then you can learn and live it out at home! After all, the Church is wherever you are! LET'S GO!

DISCUSS IT!

Here are a few discussion questions to get started. There are no right or wrong answers. Just share what you think, and then work your way down the page learning together!
  • Who are two or three of your best friends?
  • Have you ever had a friend get hurt or injured in sports or in some other way?
  • What are some ways friends help each other out?
  • How do you and your friends help each other out?
  • Is there someone in your life that maybe God put in your life for a reason?
Let's learn about a time when some friends pulled together to see a miracle happen for their friend!

OUR LESSON THIS WEEK:

Find this miracle in: Luke 5:17-26

This is one of the most well known miracles of Jesus because it's such a cool story. Jesus was teaching in a crowded house and some men were trying to bring a friend to Jesus to be healed but they couldn't get to Him. Instead of giving up, they went up on the roof and dug a hole in the floor and lowered their paralyzed friend right in front of Jesus. What can we learn from this amazing story. No, not to rip of roofs! Let's find out. But first, let's watch this funny video of Mike and Ike trying to replicate healing a broken person! (Ouch!)

MIRACLE BUSTERS with Mike and Ike!

WHAT DO WE LEARN?

God wants to use you to create miracles in others’ lives!
Read: Matthew 5:16
Things to notice in this story: These men took a friend to Jesus. They weren’t going for themselves. When there was an obstacle, they didn’t give up! They found a way to get to Jesus! They were creative! Jesus saw their effort and faith, and He rewarded them. Jesus healed the man because of the faith of his friends. This man benefited from their faith!
Read: 3 John 1:2
We should be concerned for our friends, and if they are not doing well, we should pray for them and bring them before Jesus. In prayer, or by telling them about Jesus!
Think about it: What friend can you bring to Jesus and pray for? Who do you know that needs Jesus? Who is going through something, and you know Jesus is what they really need?

Remember, Jesus is eager to do miracles, but often He is waiting to see if we will do our part first – then He responds when we ask for help.
