Miraculous!
Jesus Ascends to Heaven

We are discovering the miracles of Jesus, but also how we can experience miracles in our lives still today!
Dads, Moms, Kids - use this page together to review or further explore what was learned at church, or if you weren't able to get to church today, then you can learn and live it out at home! After all, the Church is wherever you are! LET'S GO!
DISCUSS IT!
Here are a few discussion questions to get started. There are no right or wrong answers. Just share what you think, and then work your way down the page learning together!
- What's the best news you heard lately?
- When you hear a great joke, who is the first person you share it with?
- Why do we pass on good news, good deals or funny jokes?
- How would you feel is someone kept some good news from you that you would benefit from?
- Why are we sometimes hesitant or nervous to tell others about Jesus?
Let's learn about a time that Jesus obeyed His mom and a miracle happened!
OUR LESSON THIS WEEK:

Find this miracle in: Acts 1:3-11
After Jesus rose again, He wasn't done doing miracles! He disappeared on a road walking with some disciples (Luke 24:31), he appeared in a locked room (John 20:19), and even repeated the great catch of fish again for Peter (John 21:3-11). But probably the coolest one was when He floated up into the sky, right before their eyes, and returned to heaven!

WHAT DO WE LEARN?
Did you catch what the angels said? Jesus is coming again! In the meantime, we need to be telling others about Him! Those were Jesus final instructions! The Bible says that EVERYONE is going to stand before God - that's why Jesus came and died for everyone! We need to warn them, lovingly, before that time comes.

100% of people die. Everyone will die. It is just a matter of when. Most people die when they are old. However, often when the Bible talks about death, it is talking about spiritual death. Someone can be alive – as far as their body is alive – but their soul, or spirit, can be dead, meaning they don’t know God. When you don’t know Jesus, you are spiritually dead. That’s because of sin. Remember of story of Jesus rising from the dead? He raised others too. THEN, as we learned last week, He raised HIMSELF! Jesus proved He has power of life over death, physical AND spiritual.

Not only will our body die someday, but without Jesus, our spirit will too. We deserve that because of our sin.
That’s the BAD NEWS – but there is GOOD NEWS!
Jesus died for us and everyone we know. He died the death that we deserve, so we don’t have to! Jesus has power over death as He showed many times while He was alive, and showed once and for all when He died and rose again! That’s why it is so important that we share the GOOD NEWS with everyone we know!
Sin separated us from God, but Jesus made a way for us to cross over and get to God! Here is a fun little video from a previous series we did that illustrated it. It shows a little dude trying to get to heaven, but there is a gap blocking his way. Sins keep him from getting across, but Jesus bridges the gap with the Cross and helps him get to God! (Note, it plays twice to help you follow it.)

Something to think about: There is a story a preacher once told. It’s not a true story. It’s not in the Bible, it’s just a story that was told to help us think about how important it is that we share the Good News about Jesus.
The story goes like this. When Jesus got back to heaven, some of the angels asked Him to explain what He did on earth. So He explained that He died for the sins of the people on earth. He told the angels how people had been given freedom but had used it to disobey and so deserved to die. But He loved them so much, He went and died for them. All they had to do to be saved was believe in Him and accept Him as their Savior.
The angels asked, “Is this just for the people down there now?” Jesus said, “Oh, no! This is for all people, even people generations from now! It’s for the people down there now, their kids, and their great-great-great-great-grandkids too!”
One of the angels asked, “But... how will the people generations from now learn about what you did?” Jesus said, “Well, I chose some disciples, and they are going to spread the Good News and even write some books about it, which will be collected into a big book called the Bible. It will be translated into many different languages and taken to many different countries all over the world.”
The angels thought about this and then one of them asked, “But, just curious. What if one of those generations in the future, like maybe waaaaay in the future, like 2022 for example, what if they stop sharing the Good News? Do you have a ‘Plan B?’”
Jesus smiled back and said, “No. I have no Plan B. They ARE my plan to spread the Good News, both to their generation, and to the generations after them.”
Think about it: YOU are JESUS’ PLAN to share the Good News. There is NO PLAN B. Let’s make sure we don’t let Jesus down! We need to be busy about sharing the Good News so everyone learns what Jesus did for them!
