THIS SERIES EXPLORES THE GREATEST STORIES OF THE BIBLE AND THE "POWER UPS" GOD'S PEOPLE USED TO BE VICTORIOUS IN THE CHALLENGES THEY FACED!

Sunday's Video:

Here a FUN classic Toybox Tale. It's not about Samson, but another man in the Bible who needed to learn a little humility. Can you figure out who it was?

This weeks Power Up:
SELF-CONTROL

READ the Story of Samson Judges  13-16
Samson was one of the MIGHTIEST MEN in the entire Bible! With strength he could fight off entire armies! One time to walked off with the gates of a city to prove a point.
But it turns out, his great phtical strength wasn't matched by great inner strength. He quickly gave in to temptation and it limited what he was able to do for God.
Imagine if Samson had self-control and not just great strength? What if he hadn’t married Delilah and been fooled, had his hair cut, and gone to jail? Perhaps he would have defeated many more enemies for God. Maybe he would have lived longer and ruled longer. We don’t know. But we do know that God worked his situation out for good. But you can’t help wondering what he might have missed out on.
READ: Romans 8:28 “God works all things together for good, for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.”
When we miss the Power Up of Self-Control, we too miss out on what God wants to do. God will forgive us, He will still use us, and we’ll still get to win eventually, but we may never know what we missed out on. It’s best to use self-control the first time and not miss out on anything!

GOD CONTROLLER:

REMOTE CONTROLLED BY GOD!
Another very important button on your controller is the RESET button. Sometimes a game is not  going well, and we just want to RESET and start all over. Maybe we make a really bad mistake at the
beginning and know it’s going to be a bad game, so we just want a do-over. Other times, we get defeated really fast and the game is over so fast we hardly got started. Or, maybe we got so weak in the game, we know we can’t get far, so we decide better to just RESET and start over then to continue knowing we won’t get far. In life, it can be a little different. We don’t always have a way to RESET, or start over, or go back, or get a do-over. Time keeps moving forward. We don’t really get multiple lives in real life, so we have to be more careful with the choices we make. So, what can we do when we make a big mistake, get weak, or feel defeated? In those times, we may feel like Samson did in jail. He realized too late that his lack of self-control cost him everything. But God was still at work. His hair was growing back! We can do the same thing Samson did. We can have a RESET of the heart. We can tell God we are sorry and ask God to still use us. And guess what. He will! He will make a way for us to still make a difference in the world. It may not be the same as it would have been, but that’s OK, it is never “Game Over” with God. There is always another level where God can use us!
READ: Philippians 1:6 “I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.”
