THIS WEEK: Death Has No Sting, When Jesus Does His Thing!

Parents, whether your kids are attending church, or worshiping at home online - this page is FOR YOU as well as for them! Watch with your kids and then use the discussion questions below to have an intention conversation on the week's lesson. If your kids attend Highpoint Church with Pastor, it's a great review!   • After Jesus died, what was the man's name who gave Jesus a place to be buried? (Jospeh)
  • How many days was Jesus in the tomb?
  • Who first found out that Jesus had risen again?
  • Why was Jesus no longer in the tomb?
    A. Someone stole the body and hid it.
    B. He never really died, he ran away.
    C. Jesus rose from the dead.
    D. He was in heaven.
  • Who did Mary think Jesus was at first? (a gardener)
  • What did Jesus tell Mary to do? (run and tell the disciples)
  • Who ran to the tomb? (Peter and John)
  • Who got their first? (John)
  • Which disciple didn't believe until he saw Jesus? (Thomas)
  • Why didn't the guards go around telling people Jesus rose again? (they were paid to lie)
  • Why is it important that Jesus rose again?

  • What do you think it was like to SEE Jesus alive after seeing Him die?
  • Jesus told Thomas he believed because he saw, but blessed are those who believe without seeing. Do you know who Jesus was talking about? (He was talking about us!)
  • After Jesus saw lots of people, He went back to heaven to prepare a place for us. What did He tell us to do while He is gone?
    (We are to tell others about Him!)

FIFTH: R.I.P.  (Respond in Prayer)

Dear God,
Thank you so much for coming to earth and living a life here that modeled how we should live, and then enduring such suffering and pain for us – to pay the price for our sin, so that we might have forgiveness for our sins. You love us so much, even when we donʼt deserve it! Thank you for welcoming those today into your family who accepted you as their Savior and Friend for the first time. For all of us, help us to live for you, every day, in every way, even when its hard.
We love you Jesus!

DON'T MISS THIS:

Often, the Resurrection Story is only taught at Easter time, when we celebrate this amazing event. However, the Resurrection of Jesus is central to the Christian faith. As the Apostle Paul said in I Corinthians 15:14,17- 19, “And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith...And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is useless; you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost.” He goes as far to say, “If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are to be pitied more than all men.” There is hardly a teaching in the Bible that is more important than the Resurrection of Jesus, since all others fall away if Jesus didnʼt rise again. It is what gives us our hope and it is ultimately why we can have no fear of death. How wonderful to know that we have nothing to fear in life or death because Jesus faced death and came back! And that is why we KNOW He can bring us back from it as well. No other founder of any other religion ever accomplished that feat. That is why only Jesus is worthy of following with our lives!
