NEW SERIES! GONE FISH'N for Jesus!

THIS WEEK: They Won't Know Unless You Tell Them!

Parents, whether your kids are attending church, or worshiping at home online - this page is FOR YOU as well as for them! Watch with your kids and then use the discussion questions below to have an intention conversation on the week's lesson. If your kids attend Highpoint Church with Pastor, it's a great review! If not, welcome! And we hope you'll have a great time learning about Jesus!

FIRST: Read the Bible Story in John 4:1-42

This is the story of Jesus talking to the Woman at the Well, who then went and told others about Jesus, and as a result, "Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman’s testimony."

SECOND: Watch "Noduh the Wise One"

This month, in addition to learning about becoming a Fisher of Men, we're also learning about Spiritual Disciplines. We can't lead others to Jesus if we aren't drawing closer to Jesus ourselves. Kids hear all the time to "read their Bible, pray and go to church," so we'll be learning about some of the lesser known spiritual disciplines this month.

THIRDDiscussion Questions

  • Why was the woman surprised that Jesus was talking to her? (In that day, Jews didn't talk to Samaritans and men didn't talk to women in public.)
  • Why do you think Jesus talked to her? (He loves everyone)
  • Jesus said he could give her Living Water - water that you would never thirst again. What do you think He meant by that?
  • Jesus told her things about her life that she thought were secret. Why did He do that?
  • She went and told others about Jesus, why do you think she did that?
  • Who do we sometimes not want to talk to?
  • What discipline did Noduh the Wise One talk about? What does it mean?
  • What would be something you could do without to focus more on God?
  • Take a minute and PRAY for someone you know who needs Jesus. That is a great way to start!

Below is our THEME VERSE for the Month, work on memorizing it!

BONUS VIDEO: The Jews didn't like the Samaritans because they were only half-Jewish. So Jesus told a story about a Jew being helped by a Samaritan to show them our neighbor is whoever helps us. Pastor Karl made a funny video years ago re-telling that story with Legos. It is below, you'll probably enjoy it even though it's a little fuzzy - it's called The Good Bionicle!
ALSO, below is Matthew 4:19, our theme verse for the month - it's a short one - so try to memorize it!
