Here was the MAIN POINT for this week:
In our walk with God we will find that we will never get it perfect. We will use our gifts but sometimes at the wrong time. We will follow his plans but I miss the signs he gives us. We are not disobedient intentionally. We are just not perfect. All of the things we have learned in this series are important. We must make effort in all these areas. In construction it doesn’t matter how fast we build a building if we don’t follow the plans. If we don’t pass all our inspections we cant open the building. If an electrician tries to do the plumbing, it probably wont pass inspection. If we don’t follow the warning signs there may not be anyone left to build it. In order to make sure the whole thing is right we have to communicate with each other. But even though we are all doing different parts we are following the same plan. When it is all said and done, we all have the goal, to glorify Gods Kingdom, with our works, our obedience, and our submission to Gods authority. God has given us all the instruction, and gifts we need to achieve our life for him.
BUT WHEN WILL BE FINISHED?
When a house is being built, one day it is finally finished and sold to a family who buys it.
BUT, is it really DONE? The family who buys it may keep making changes and improvements to it.
AND things keep breaking and needing reparis.
In some ways, the house is never really EVERY done - it's always "under construction."
In fact, inside the house, it gets messy every day, and needs to be cleaned and straightened up every day.
That's kind of how it is with our lives. We are ALWAYS under construction!
But the good news is, God is never finished with us! We are always Under Construction. But the Bible promises that God will keep working on us and will complete what He began until the day that Jesus returns!
SOME DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:
Use these questions to discuss the lesson together as a family:
- What is something you like to do that takes hard work?
- Have you ever wanted to quit something?
- How does it feel to finish something that took a lot of effort?
- What is something in your life you are working hard on?
- What comes easy to you?
- What takes extra effort for you?
- What do you think God is working on in you?
- Everyone share what you think God is working on in you, and then pray for the person on your right.
